Marie Klock was born in a bunker next to a charcoal mine in the North-East of France. Germany and its cheap cigarettes were only a few kilometres away. She grew up reading books, playing piano and having imaginary friends in the countryside behind Puttelange-aux-Lacs, which more or less means Whore-angel-by-the-Lake. After years of struggle, she finally became cool in her late twenties, which allowed her to play in a synthpop band in Berlin. Now she lives in Paris and spends most of her time writing.
The main topics of her songs are sperm, insects and loneliness. Her songs are mostly funny but you won’t notice as she only sings in French.
Her first record was released in May 2020 by Les disques de la Face Cachée, an exquisite record store and label in the city of Metz, and is still unavailable on streaming platforms.
